There is a big market out there with a lot of choice. This is my kit, the one I have reached for since 1999. A professional setup, and a great place to start.

The rubber is the part that matters most. It is what actually clears the water off the glass, so it is the one place I do not compromise. In my eyes, Ettore rubber is the best in the world. I run Ettore squeegee handles and applicator covers too.
For the rest, Pulex. Professional, reliable, does exactly what it should without fuss.
Now, this is my choice, not the only one. Maybe you prefer the feel of an Unger Ninja handle with a Sorbo channel; plenty of pros swear by it. Sorbo rubber is also superb. Honestly I would happily use it, but it is hard to source where I live, so Ettore it is. Try a few things and find your own feel.
A couple of specialist tools worth knowing about, for when a job calls for it:
- A Moerman 0-degree squeegee for overhead cleaning.
- A Wagtail when every drop has to be caught; think a white wall under the glass where a single run of dirty water would show, and collecting all of it is the whole job.

What about water-fed poles (WFP)?
You might wonder why there are no water-fed poles or filters here. That is on purpose. WFP work is its own category. It is for cleaners who are already advanced, and it does not use traditional tools at all.
I use a water-fed pole system myself. You can watch me work with one in the Mastery Course, in Step 3 of both The Skill and The Standard. But every window has its perfect tool, and the squeegee in your hand is the one that teaches you how glass really behaves. WFP has its place; start here, master this by hand, and the pole makes sense later.
